Your Shoes

Sometimes I just like to create something a little off-topic. As a CT member for Hot Flash Designs, I enjoy helping Marci by creating layouts using the kits she releases each week. This week, the kit is called JudyAnn's T-Shirt, available at Funky Playground Designs. The colors are very bold and bright - and great for a boy's layout. But I wanted to do something a little different. I have a young friend who is dear to my heart and I wanted to give her some inspiration. Lindsey - this one's for you!

Welcome Home

When Alan returned from deployment, his family hosted a huge party in their backyard that included the Barbie. Can't ever have a family gathering in Texas without it! This layout highlights several photos from the event. (I really need to pull out all of the pictures to share)  From Hot Flash Designs "Steak on the Barbie".

Squirt

Earlier this month, Alyssa and Jimmie brought the boys to Houston for the 4th.  They only stayed with me one night, but the boys got to enjoy the pool at my condo complex.  Of the several pool toys, Kaden's favorite is using the noodle to squirt water.  He was doing it manually, filling and then blowing out the water.  Then daddy showed him how to use the pool jets.  Mommy and Ben weren't so thrilled about the results.

To all our armed forces serving in Kuwait and Afganistan, Thank You. This is why you serve. Two little boys enjoying a day at the lake, totally carefree.  With Alan away this past year, I've really come to respect the sacrifice these young men and women make to keep our country safe.

Camping, June 2012

I remember the days when we used to go camping with my folks.  We were reminiscing just this past weekend about our pop-up tent, and camping cross-country from New York State to Washington State.  I know that in years to come, Dylan will remember these moments with his Uncle Colin with fondness as well.

Ring-bearer Extraordinaire

In May, Dylan served as Ring-bearer...he looks so handsome!

I used a brand-new kit from Hot Flash Designs, called "Up the Rebels". Originally intended for 4th of July layouts, I couldn't resist using it for these pictures of Dylan and the little flower girl. The blues in the kit matched her dress perfectly!
