My Cowardly Lion

When we went to the pumpkin patch, it was after lunch, and the boys were ready for a nap. Alyssa, Miranda and the boys were headed back to San Antonio from Houston, but we wanted to get one more round of pictures done in their costumes. Kaden was fine, but Ben just didn't want anything to do with this new experience. We tried to put him on the grass, but even with a blanket under him, he just didn't like it. Mommy said it was because he was just ready for his nap.

Prize Layout

Earlier this month, I was sent a prize package from my friends, Kay and Lori, for submitting a comment about costume memories. Here is the page I created from the paper and 'bellies in the prize package. I have to admit I also used some scraps from another package I got from Kay - her pumpkin book. So many neat goodies. Thanks Kay and Lori.

This is my grandson Kaden in the pumpkin patch at a church near my apartment. He couldn't get over how many "balls" were on the ground to play with, and was ready to toss every one he could pick up.

Miranda's book

I've been tracking a blog that "challenges" everyone with something different each week. These pictures were from the first week of a five week contest. I'm planning to play all five weeks. Not that I expect to win, but it will be fun to try.

The challenge was to use something that was more than six months old, so I chose pictures of Miranda from 2nd grade through Graduation. Definitely more than six months old! They'll go in the book I was planning to create anyway.

I love my Cricut

My cricut was a gift as a result of some certificates I received in May 2007. Then earlier this year, Provocraft released the Design Studio. Most of the time, I use DS to create my titles, but when I go to a crop, and don't take my computer, I have to use the Cricut "as is."

Here is the first project I created with Design Studio. The title "Lil Monkey" was created entirely with George letters. The banana is done with stretched parentheses with "monkey" letters turned sideways. The peel is the same parentheses, only bolded, and the addition of "J", one is flipped. The elements are welded so they are cut in one piece.

Kaden was playing on my dining room table and the inspiration for the design was actually matching the paper from "Nana's Kids" to his antics.

Terry' Birthday Invitation

My friend Terry asked me to help her create a Birthday Party invitation. This was a big day, and she wanted to have a special invitation. The first design was a "Save the Date". She gave me a picture of herself with her father taken when she was a youngster, and that set the theme of Cowgirl. I spent a couple of hours creating the prototype, then she and I went shopping for the products. She picked the final paper choices and embellishments. I spent two or three evenings the following week completing the 50 or so invitations.

PS - The party was fun too.

My Grandsons

Here are recent pictures of my grandsons, Kaden and Ben. Ben is in the top picture.

Self-Challenge

At the end of September, I attended Scrap Pink hosted by the Scrapbook Chicks at Scrapbook Cottage in San Antonio. One of the "Chicks," Carolyn was showing a new project for Hallowe'en - an absolutely adorable Haunted House. It was based on a Gingerbread House design. I made the comment that I could see taking the design and creating a whole Christmas village. Our family and some of our friends have always believed that if you have "thought", then you have to carry through with the "thought."

So, after finding out the source from the Scrapbook Chicks, I ordered the project, and in less than a day, created my Christmas village cornerstone - the Gingerbread House. I envision creating the Chapel, the Toy Store, and Candy Store, and .... you get the idea.
